Sisterhood

"My sisters remind me, by their steadfastness, that truth, beauty, and goodness exist in the world, and that no matter what, there are and always will be people loving people through thick and thin."

The ladies of Phi Mu have a wonderful sisterhood that gives our members a home away from home. Below are some of the fun traditions that our members look forward to each year.

Bid Day is the final day of sorority recruitment when our new members run to the Phi Mu house! After all new members receive their bids, old and new members spend the day together to celebrate with food, pictures, and introductions.

Take a look at the video below from Bid Day this past year to get a sneak peak of what it's all about.

Each semester, the women of Phi Mu hold a sisterhood retreat. The purpose of a sisterhood retreat is to allow each member to take time out of her busy schedule and spend quality time with her Phi Mu sisters. Some of our most memorable retreats have included a day on a yacht, a trip to the Audobon Zoo in New Orleans, beach trips, and a Global Wildlife excursion!

Tristan Campbell and Caida Andrew are our sisterhood development chairs,. For  the spring 2017 semester, the theme was PHI MU GETS FIT. The event included yoga, kickboxing, and a yummy juice bar!

Every year during our annual Spirit Week, the ladies of Phi Mu host a Talent Show! Some of our advisors and alum will come to the house to do the judging.  It is so much fun and has become a new tradition that everyone looks forward to.

Phi Mu participates in intramural sports against sorority and independent team divisions. These sports include: flag football, soccer, sand volleyball, bowling, softball, and many others. We always have teams that play to compete, and then teams that just like to have fun.  The ladies of Phi Mu have won the sorority division of intramurals for the past 12 years in a row.

Each semester the ladies of Phi Mu visit their Children's Miracle Network hospital (Blair E. Batson) in Jackson, Mississippi. They bring them games, toys and crafts to brighten their moods. Not only do we enjoy seeing the kids, but we can tell by the smiles on their faces that they look forward to seeing us, as well.  This is also a way to share some quality time with our sisters.
